QFE Curriculum
A developmental, structured approach to learning — designed to build confidence, clarity, and long-term understanding.
Our Approach to Learning
Our Approach to Learning
At QFE, learning is not rushed, forced, or driven by timelines.
It is built carefully — step by step — so that children develop secure understanding, confidence, and the ability to think independently.
We prioritise:
- mastery over memorisation
- depth over speed
- clarity over completion
Children are not expected to “keep up” with a system.
Instead, the system adapts to the child.
Learning is designed to:
- build strong foundations
- revisit and reinforce key concepts
- develop reasoning and thinking skills
- support long-term retention
Because when understanding is secure, confidence follows.
How We Teach
How We Teach
Every lesson at QFE is intentionally structured.
We do not rely on passive learning or surface-level tasks.
Instead, lessons are designed to:
- introduce concepts clearly
- model thinking step by step
- guide children through practice
- encourage explanation and reasoning
- reinforce understanding through structured tasks
Sessions are
- calm and focused
- carefully paced
- designed to avoid overwhelm
- built around clear learning goals
Most lessons are 45–50 minutes.
Phonics sessions are shorter (25 minutes) to match attention and developmental needs.
Learning is purposeful, not excessive.
The QFE Flight Pathway
The QFE Flight Pathway
Children move through stages based on understanding — not age.
Each stage reflects:
- independence
- reasoning
- depth of learning

Skills Progression
At QFE, skills are developed both within stages and across the full pathway.
Progression is not just about learning new content.
It is about strengthening:
- understanding
- reasoning
- fluency
- independence
Children move from
- recognising → understanding
- understanding → applying
- applying → explaining
- explaining → reasoning independently
This progression is carefully built into every lesson and every module.
Over time, children develop:
- confidence in their thinking
- clarity in their approach
- the ability to work independently
