Feather System

The QFE Feather System

A meaningful way to celebrate effort, growth, confidence, and learning behaviours.

At QFE, feathers are not rewards for perfection. They recognise the learning behaviours that help children grow.

The Feather System celebrates effort, resilience, curiosity, independence, collaboration, and progress. Each feather helps children see that learning is not just about getting the answer right — it is about how they think, try, reflect, and grow.

How Feathers Are Awarded

Recognition that is thoughtful, calm, and meaningful

Feathers help children notice the habits, behaviours, and moments of growth that matter most.

Feathers can be awarded manually by teachers for meaningful moments during lessons, such as effort, resilience, thoughtful participation, collaboration, or strong reasoning.

Some feathers may also be awarded automatically for consistent habits such as attendance, lesson completion, and homework engagement.

At the end of each term, learners are recognised for consistent effort and growth. The focus is not perfection — it is progress.

Teacher Awards

Manual recognition for standout moments.

Automatic Recognition

Attendance, completion, and homework engagement.

Termly Celebration

Consistent effort and growth celebrated over time.

At QFE, we do not only recognise what children complete.

We recognise who they are becoming.
